Dimond Real Estate

The area surrounding the intersection of Macarthur Boulevard and Fruitvale Avenue is known as the Dimond District. This District borders the Laurel and Glenview area, and has seen a significant amount of revitilization in recent years. Some of the businesss in the area include Safeway, Cybelle's Pizza, Wells Fargo, Chase, Bank of America, La Farine Bakery, Farmer Joes, Nama Sushi and Peet's Coffee. Fruitvale Avenue runs all the way down to the Fruitvale Bridge which leads to Alameda, and has an entrance to Interstate 580 right off of it.

Homes in the Dimond District are mostly Mediterranean and Crafstman Bungalow style, and many have large lots. As you travel up Fruitvale Avenue you enter the Upper Dimond Area which borders Glenview and Oakmore. There you will see larger homes and more Mid-Century Architecture. Dimond Park is known for it's shady areas with picnic tables and grills, as well as the public pool whichs used by many locals.

The Dimond District has a higher walkscore than some of the surrounding areas because for one it's flat, and then you have the concentration of shopping and banking services which allows residents to walk to do many of the day to day errands. There are many long time residents there, as well as a recent infusion of first time buyers as prices have become more affordable in recent years.
