Claremont Real Estate
Claremont real estate is some of the most exclusive in the City. This is an absolutely beautiful area which borders Berkeley, and Hiller Highlands. This area was once part of Vicente Peralta's land, which was given to him by his father in 1842. The most famous landmark of this neighborhood is the Claremont Hotel, which was completed in 1915 and has been designated by the City as a historical landmark. Claremont Heights and Claremont Estates are the two subdivisions which were built there, with many beautiful Colonial, Mediterranean and Contemporary homes with amazing views of the Bay. To the East is Hiller Highlands, Berkeley lies to the West, and Rockridge is below. In fact, one of the founders of Mason McDuffie (Duncan McDuffie) had a residence in the Claremont Hills, and it recently sold.
In fact, Duncan McDuffie actually designed many of the neighborhoods in this District as well as many others in Oakland. Amazing, views, lots of square footage and close proximity to Berkeley are some of the features that the Claremont area offers. Geographically it's not a large Dstrict, and this is one of the reasons why it's very exclusive. If you exit Highway 13 toward Berkeley, you will end up on Tunnel Road which borders Hiller Highlands and part of Claremont.
