New Real Estate MLS feature Offers More Exposure for Oakland/East Bay Sellers

All listings that are displayed on my website (or any other website for that matter) all come from the Multiple Listing Service or "MLS". The Oakland/East Bay area MLS is where all real estate listings in Alameda County are displayed for us real estate agents to search when we are searching for homes for our clients. It's accessable only to licensed real estate agents, and it contains information that is omitted from the public listungs that you see online.

For sellers, the MLS is the single greatest source of exposure, because it is where the real estate agent who have buyer clients are looking. There are several MLS's within California, and currently us Realtors have to become of a member of each MLS that we plan to market listings in. However soon all real estate agents will be able to access all the MLS systems in the State. What this means is that if you want to sell your house in Oakland, instead of having it displayed in only our local MLS, it will be displayed in every MLS in the entire state. It's true that most agents who have clients looking in Oakland will be a member of our MLS, but there are times when there are agents who are out of the area who have clients that want to move here, and this will make it easier for them to locate potential homes of interest which in turn might help facilitate a sale.

It's not groundbreaking by any means, but when you are a seller it's all about exposure to the market, and no amount of exposure is too much!
