- If I had to describe Hamid with one word, I would use "tenacious." My home buying experience, which began in the spring of 2007, was unusual. The home is part of a new development in Oakland, built by a small local developer organization. The process was fraught with problems: The developer's Realtor was uncooperative, there were numerous mortgage problems, as the credit crunch worsened. There were multiple liens against the developer and one of the developer partners had a lawsuit against the other. Through it all, Hamid stayed pragmatic, yet supportive. He did not give up or give in, and finally because of Hamid we closed escrow on that townhouse just in time for Christmas 2007-at a much lower price than anticipated, thanks to Hamid's negotiation skills.
