Piedmont Real Estate
For many years, Piedmont has been described as one of California's most upscale and desireable communities. It's no wonder that this city actually began as a resort back in the late 1800's. For years, professional elites from San Francisco sought out Piedmont for it's amazing beauty and wonderful climate. Blair park and Piedmont park were destinations for those who wanted to relax, unwind and enjoy the natural springs, mild weather and beautiful scenery. By the late 19th century, the construction of large estates had increaced and by the early 20th century, the population had grown enough for Piedmont to be incorporated as a city.
Piedmont homes were designed in such a way that they seem to blend in with the surrounding greenery. Most of the homes in Piedmont were built in the mid 1900's, and the architectual styles range from large craftsman Bungalows, to very unique and expansive revival period homes, Colonial, and Mediterranean. The large size of many Piedmont homes makes it a very low density area, which gives the area a very residential feel. The city only has one small retail center, but the bustling Piedmont avenue retail section is located just west of the city.
